Tikla's Surprise Half Birthday Party

Dani, Kate, and Christine getting the dinner ready before Tikla came home.

It was a surprise party. Do I really need to explain what this picture is?

Tikla and her cake made by Kathryn.

Kate, Dani, and ... possessed Tikla.

Kathryn and I had been planning this since before Christmas break. We thought it would be funny to celebrate Tikla's half birthday since we wouldn't be together for her real birthday. It got pretty crazy too. So here was our story. Christine was having a "recital" that Wednesday, so Tikla wouldn't plan anything that day, and then later we would tell her it was canceled. We started getting everything ready before Tikla got back at a little after seven. Well, Kathryn was running a little late, and so was I. I came back from the Creamery and Kathryn flagged me down to inform me that Tikla was on her way right then. So we bolted into the kitchen, made Dani the official distraction, and started decorating and fixing dinner. I don't know what all happened in Dani's attempt to distract Tikla, but it worked.

Then to get Tikla out of the apartment we asked Julia, our RA, to ask her to come over for any reason she could think of, which ended up being "a problem with the honor code". Poor Tikla. lol. Then Dani ran over to their apartment and told Tikla that something was burning, which is completely possible in our apartment. They came into the kitchen, and Dani yelled, "It's your birthday cake!" It was pretty funny. Needless to say she was pretty surprised, seeing as it wasn't actually her birthday.

Later on we were all talking about things we said and did, and started filling in the puzzle pieces for Tikla, and all of a sudden, she asks Christine why her "recital" was canceled. We all started busting up, and she figured out that that was made up too. It's a good thing that Tikla doesn't think about things like that a lot, or she might have started to wonder why Christine was having a recital when we'd only been in school for a week and a half.

Sorry

Ok. So when I start something new it takes me a really long time to get used to doing it regularly which is why my journal is usually a week's worth of entries every six months or so.
Which is why the last time I wrote was in November. Yeah, sorry 'bout that.

It's a new semester (not some-esther), and so my schedule is completely different now. I like it though. I get to start tutoring for 1st-3rd grade in a week, and I AM SO EXCITED! I haven't been around little kids for awhile, and I loved being with my (yes they were mine) fourth, sixth, and eighth graders. Unfortuately now they are my fifth, eighth, and nineth graders.

I'm majoring in Psychology now. I discovered two things last semester: I can actually write and I love psychology. So now, since I actually think I'm capable, I want to be a child psychologist like I did in middle school. I loved my psychologist in seventh grade, and I've always wanted to be someone like her. Her name was Mrs. Kneibert. She helped me through a lot of stuff I was going through. Once I missed a session, and she checked me out of school and took me to Wendy's. She was really cool.

That's not everything from last semester and this one, but those are the major things.

And I am still convinced that referring only has two r's. It looks weird with three.
